Logistics and Spare Parts, Argo Parts’ competitive advantage

Giorgio Guaitoli, Director of Argo Parts

The turning point occurred more than twenty years ago, when Argo Tractors decided to overhaul the logistics processes in the Spare Parts division to create a strategic asset for its business. With a forward-looking strategy, the multinational leading agricultural mechanisation company based in Reggio Emilia, Italy aimed to digitalise and centralise both the spare part warehouse and the production logistics of Landini and McCormick tractors into a single centre. As a result, they involved all Group plants and raised service standards for customers and international partners.

“This was a challenge successfully met thanks to the proactive participation of all our colleagues and collaborators in addition to continuous innovation in warehouse management and customer service”, says Giorgio Guaitoli, Director of Argo Parts, the spare parts division of Argo Tractors. “Our mission is to ensure the highest availability of original spare parts as quickly as possible, anywhere in the world.”

Located in San Martino in Rio, in the province of Reggio Emilia, Italy, the logistics centre is the technological and operational hub for managing spare parts and aftermarket kits.

It is a cutting-edge infrastructure based on a corporate vision built on innovation, digitalisation, and service. Today, the logistics centre covers an area of 40,000 sq. m, features 8 packing lines, and can process over 600,000 order lines per year. Furthermore, it reaches customers in more than 100 countries. The team consists of 95 highly specialised operators: 60 devoted to logistics and 35 employed in commercial, administrative, and managerial roles.

“Argo Parts manages in real time the entire process of receiving, cataloguing, and storing materials. The offer includes over 80,000 items available in stock through a dedicated web portal that integrates into a general catalogue with more than 800,000 references. This includes official merchandising for the Landini and McCormick brands.”

“Argo Parts”, Guaitoli continues, “stands out for the quality of original spare parts, technical support provided by its experts, and an excellent distribution network with 15 direct branches, 130 importers, and over 2,500 dealers worldwide. Automated stock monitoring enables quick responses and on-time deliveries, aiming to guarantee shipments within 24 hours to European dealers. This is because we know the value of operational continuity in the field and rows.”

“Argo Parts is the flagship of our company’s process”, says Alberto Morra, Managing Director of Argo Tractors. “We are constantly committed to investing in digitalisation and staff training to ensure timely and quality service. We are aware that logistics efficiency is crucial for customer satisfaction and brand competitiveness.”

In early 2025, Argo Tractors also signed an agreement with TVH (a specialist and leader in spare parts and accessories for both logistics and agricultural machinery), which will allow the Italian manufacturer to expand its aftermarket portfolio. By leveraging the ARGOTech platform, Argo Tractors will support dealers faster. This is thanks to the new partner’s network, which counts 90 branches worldwide (including 19 warehouses in Europe).

“The partnership with TVH is a strategic choice for Argo Tractors, driven by the desire to further enhance our offering to Landini and McCormick dealers. Access to TVH’s global network allows us to expand our coverage through an efficient logistics system, in line with our goal of ensuring deliveries within 24 hours across Europe. We share with TVH the objective of providing high-quality products and services to our entire dealer network, which represents one of the main assets of Argo Tractors”, adds Giorgio Guaitoli.
