Argo Tractors inaugurates its 2024 trade fair activities with the Italian event Fieragricola in Verona. The Italian manufacturer of Landini and McCormick brand tractors will be one of the protagonists of the 116^th edition of the exhibition dedicated to agriculture, which is scheduled to take place from 31 January to 3 February 2024. In Hall 7, the Company will be showcasing the best of a production that focuses on state-of-the-art and digitalised tractors.

“Argo Tractors will be present with both brands”, announced Mario Danieli, Country Manager Italy for Argo Tractors, “presenting the most advanced tractors at Fieragricola. We will be bringing our latest generation of high-tech products with a modern, up-to-date design to the entire range, which has already impressed and won prestigious prizes and awards at the recent Agritechnica trade fair”.

Technology is a key development asset for both brands, so much so that it constitutes an absolute competitive advantage.

“Thanks to annual investments of 5.5 per cent of turnover in the R&D department”, continues Danieli, “we have further implemented the technology on board our tractors. For example, our brands are among the very few that include telemetry, remote diagnostics and farm management solutions as standard on all major ranges. Without forgetting that the production of the tractors is 100% made in Italy”.

These investments and developments lead to concrete results: last November Argo Tractors won a historic double award in the “Tractor of the Year 2024” competition. The Italian industrial group was successful in both categories in which its tractors were nominated: the Landini Rex4-120 GT Dynamic came out on top in the Best of Specialised segment, while the McCormick X5.120 P3-Drive won in Best Utility.

Both award-winning tractors will be showcased in Verona, where Argo Tractors will highlight the RoboShift transmission featured on Landini’s Rex4-120 GT Dynamic and Serie 5, while McCormick will focus on the new Clever Cab for high-power tractors.

Landini Rex 4-120 GT Roboshift Dynamic has raised the bar exponentially for specialized vineyard and orchard tractors: the RoboShift transmission puts an electro-actuated robotised system at the service of the operator, operating in both the three speeds under load and the four basic gears. This is complemented by the Auto Powershift (APS) function – for automatic gear shifting with adjustable responsiveness. The multifunctional SmartPilot joystick simultaneously controls the transmission, PTO engagement, engine revs and electro-hydraulic spool valves. The Advanced Driving System (ADS) is already set up to integrate with assisted driving systems for precision farming. Not forgetting the Dynamic option which, in addition to a driver’s seat with a swivel seat, includes a modern multifunctional armrest. As an option, autonomous driving system will also be available. Thanks to sensors on the bonnet and fenders and a radar on the roof, driving in the row becomes fully autonomous over the entire length of the rows, allowing the operator to concentrate on working the implement.

The Landini Serie 5 is designed to meet the specific needs of every farm, focusing on comfort, versatility and performance. Available in the 5-100, 5-110 and 5-120 versions, it has power outputs from 95 to 114 hp, equipped with the innovative generation of FPT F36 3.6-litre, 4-cylinder, 16-valve Stage V type-approved engines with DOC + SCRoF and RoboShift transmission.

Comfort is enhanced by the suspended cab and front axle, while driving is facilitated by the steering system named Advanced Driving System+.

In particular, the 5-120 Dynamic model is comparable in performance to tractors of a higher category. A truly versatile utility tractor: perfect for open field work, such as ploughing, tillage and harrowing, agile with seeding and grass management and reliable in the shed and for transport. Made to perform every job with maximum efficiency and equipped with automotive-style solutions.

The Landini 5-085, which we will see in a full-option version and with Roboshift transmission, is the light-utility suitable for many farm and field tasks. At a style level, the 5-085 model benefits from the new Landini Family Feeling, complete with LED lighting and also available with the BlueIcon finish, the exclusive metallic blue livery combined with a wide range of specifications, already available on other Landini models.

The Landini Serie 5-100 will be on display in the ES-Plus version: a version designed for uses where entry-level specifications are more than sufficient to meet all operator needs: a further step forward in a range that stands out for its versatility and performance in the utility tractor segment.

McCormick X5.120 P3-Drive, awarded Best Utility at the Tractor of The Year 2024, represents the most powerful model in the X5 family. Its main novelty is the new P3-Drive transmission, 36+12 or 48+16 with creeper, designed and built entirely in the Argo Tractors factories. A combination of 3 PowerShift (HML) and 4 robotised gears is available for each range, offering 12 ratios that can be managed in sequential or automatic mode. Everything is conveniently controlled via the SmartPilot joystick, taking advantage of the Auto PowerShift (APS) function that automatically engages the gear as speed increases in both field operations (AutoField) and road transport (AutoRoad).

Equipped with a 3.6-litre, 4-cylinder, 16-valve, Stage V compliant FPT F36 engine, the range delivers 95 to 114hp maximum torque ranging from 395 to 460 Newton metres, all in a compact tractor with a wheelbase of 2,354 mm.

Finally, thanks to careful design, the exhaust gas aftertreatment system consisting of DOC, DPF and SCRoF is housed entirely under the bonnet to ensure greater compactness and visibility. The bonnet itself, made in one single piece, offers a wide opening for easy maintenance and cleaning of the radiators.

What makes this model unique compared to the competition and ensures high operator comfort (which makes it Best in Class) is the combination of suspended axle and cab.

Among the latest innovations is the new cab for top-of-the-range tractors, the X7.6 and X8 VT-Drive: The McCormick Clever Cab has been designed and built to offer not only more space and comfort, but also includes ergonomic solutions to ensure that the operator’s experience on board the tractor is excellent. As well as the new LED headlight system that ensures optimal visibility outdoors, especially when working at night. Windshields and doors benefit from new, innovative ComfortSky® glass developed by Saint Gobain. This improves thermal insulation in both summer and winter, significantly increasing comfort in the cab and reducing the use of air conditioning.

Finally, the controls have been redesigned to be even easier and more convenient to reach, while the dashboard and digital interfaces have been enhanced to offer an even more satisfying user experience. New interior trim in automotive-style plastics and a four-speaker Alpine audio system compatible with Apple Car Play and Android Auto complete the picture.
